"Daydreaming" 24 X 30 acrylic on canvas, Laura Bird Miller

Dreams and our hopes for the future are what keep us going no matter what!  A promise of all things working for good comes from God’s Word in Jeremiah 29:11 “For I know the plans I have for you declares the Lord; plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”

 

Mark and Joyce Arthur had a dream.  They dreamed of having a cabin in the mountains where they could ride their horses again.  They haven’t had horses in years, but they have fond memories of when they had their horses.  “We used to ride them every weekend,” Mark said.  They would go on trips with them, sometimes riding 20 miles, exploring and enjoying thier time together as a couple.

 

Mark brought me a photo of his wife and him riding their horses in a parade.  The photo was as 5  x 7 taken in around 1976.  “Can you paint my daydream?” he asked, “You know, put Joyce and I in the painting on our horses with the mountains and cabin in the background.”  He wanted to give it to Joyce for her birthday in November.  “Sure,” I replied, excited for I could already see it in my mind’s eye.  I set to work and prayed as I set my brush to the canvas.  You can see the photo and the work in progress below.

 

I want to give God the glory for this painting; He is the one who inspired Mark’s daydream and gave me the tools and hands to paint this with.  It was so fun to bless Joyce, and Mark said she cried when he revealed the gift to her as a surprise on her birthday.  “Everybody at the party gasped,” he said, when he unveiled the painting.  Mark is a sweet husband to give such a gift to his wife.  He surely knows how to love her well.

 

I am not saying this to sell paintings or toot my own horn or make any husbands feel bad becausee they are not thinking of these kinds of things to give their wives instead of the usual toaster oven or new blouse.  But I hope you hear my heart in offering my services to help you create a memory and a legacy that will last a lifetime.    Mark said his two children are already discussing who gets this painting after they are gone to be with the Lord.  He said he’ll have to come up with another idea so they each have one.  I laughed.

 

It’s not as expensive or scarey as it sounds to do this either.  Just send me a  photo .jpg of the photo you are thinking of along with your ideas, thoughts, or dreams about it if you want or I can replicate the photo as is.  I’ll be right up front and let you know my fee for a 24 X 36 painting (which is a nice-sized 2 feet by 3 feet, by the way, LOL)  is $250.   This includes 1-2 people in the painting.  A 16 X 20 would be only $195.  I don’t like to go smaller than that because you cannot see the details readily that way, but if you want a smaller print of the original, we can make any giclee for a reasonable charge as well.  The giclees look just like the original; it’s amazing.  I take credit cards and I will break it up into two payments:  one half when you agree to my services and the other half the following month, if you like, or upon delivery. I will have your painting finished within 2 weeks, guaranteed, unless I tell you otherwise from the start, but I will be honest and fair, and hope you will be likewise.  Also, if you need it sooner than that, please let me know.  Be sure to get your photo .jpg attachment to me as soon as possible in prepartion for Christmas gift giving!
