Memories of growing up in Minnesota keep coming back at Christmas time.  Living in Florida, sometimes I miss the little things from the north, like, the first snowfall or the first day you can skate on the lake's ice.  This painting is based off of one of Thomas Kinkade's as I was sharing with my students about light and shadow.  I started it as a demo and then finished it the next day because I loved where it was going.  These are the paintings you just cannot stop painting; the ones that you HAVE to paint.  Your spirit just needs to set what's inside free!  

I hope "First Snowdusting," soft and warm, contrasts of cool and warm colors, lights and shadow warms your heart...and your home!  Enjoy!
